WITHIN THE DOOR OF REVIVAL   Part 3

Introduction

Review:
 1. Dynamic Consciousness of God’s Presence
 2. A Deliberate Response To The Word
 3. A Demanding Sensitivity To Sin

 I.  A Demanding Sensitivity To Sin
* When God puts a finger on a sin in your life, you’ll make little progress until you deal with it.

What Sins Will God Put His Finger On

 1. Not Seeking The Glory of God First
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.   1 Cor. 10:31

 2. Bound By The Cares Of The World
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

 3. Careless and Ungodly In What You Say
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds    Col. 3:9

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers         Eph. 4:29

 4. Impure Thoughts And Motives
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.    Phil. 4:8

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.   2 Tim. 2:22

 5. A Proud Spirit
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud,   but gives grace to the humble."  James 4:6

 6. Bitter, Complaining Spirit
And the children of Israel said to them,"Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger."      Ex. 16:3, 8

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Eph. 4:31

 7. Spotted By The World
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.    James 1:27

 8. An Unforgiving Spirit
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.   But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.    Matt. 6:14-15

 9. Grieving The Holy Spirit
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Eph. 4:30

(The following part of the message was not actually preached because of time constraints)

II. A Demonstration Of Personal Holiness

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind,  and.... put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.   Eph. 4:23-24

For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.   (1 Thess. 4:7-8)

HOLINESS DEMONSTRATED IN SEVERAL WAYS - grace manifested in lives
* JOY  –   BOLDNESS  - PRAYER, PRAISE, WORSHIP

1. Personal Holiness

2 Closer Unity

Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.     Acts 4:32

1. We Have Been United In Christ

2. When There Is Division - It Indicates That
    God is Not Near

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.  I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;  for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?  (1 Cor. 3:1-3)

These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him:     A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,   a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,   a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren. (Prov. 6:16-19)

3. Generosity and Love
Acts 2:45    and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
